Papa Murphy

No matter how long someone has been sick, you're never prepared to let them go. On Saturday, February 23rd my Papa passed away. We were fortunate enough to introduce him to his 26th great-grandbaby in December. He could never get enough of good-looking women and babies, so he got a double treat that day! We said goodbye to him at his funeral yesterday. It was just not right visiting Alabama without a good joke from Papa and a nice sloppy kiss on the cheek. He was one of my favorite men. He will be dearly missed. On the bright side, Nana will be getting twice the loving in his absence.

HOLY COW!

We finally did it. We had Beckham baptized. He was so precious in his little white suit. If only he had thought so! He fussed for 2/3 of the ceremony, then fell asleep just in time for the last blessing to be performed. Typical, right? Scott wanted to know what the other parents gave their babies to keep them so quiet!! The ceremony was beautiful, though. Beckham was the youngest of the four boys to be baptized, but easily the most impressive in size and hair! Anyhow, we all drove home in the nastiest thunderstorm of the year and enjoyed delicious BBQ pork and a cake made by the artistic hands of "favorite Aunt Amanda" while Beckham took a nap. He woke up just in time for everyone to get one last squeeze in and get back in their cars to drive in more rain. Yuck! We are so blessed that everyone could make it, though, including Aunt Janet- all the way from Pittsburgh!

Splish, Splash!

Beckham is 3-1/2 months old! He weighs a whopping 17 pounds. His favorite time of the day is morning time- he wakes up smiling, laughing, and squealing. Yes, his new thing is to test his voice inflection. His other favorite time of the day is bath time! He has figured out how to really get the water going. I think he's ready for the big-boy bath!

Goooooooooo Dawgs, Sick 'em!!

Well, we've lived in our house for 2-1/2 years and finally finished our "Georgia Room". It has been a work in progress since we moved in. Being as Scott and I are tight-wad, penny-pinching money-savers, it was very difficult to find a desk that fit our budget and our tastes. Enjoy the view!
