My Hubby The Hockey Player

As I'm sure you've read in the two posts Scott wrote, Scott has taught himself how to ice skate over the past 5 months with the aspiration to play hockey on a rec team. His games are late at night, but I kept the boys up past their bedtime last night so they could watch their daddy play. . .
Amanda came as well to cheer her brother on :)
The boys were so excited to see Scott dressed up for the game. Brooks was livid that Scott left him behind, though!
All dressed up and ready to play. (Scott's #24)
Some action on the ice, all leading up to this. . .

Gooooaaaaallll!!!! Way to go #24! We're proud of you for trying something new and doing a great job at it!!

Brooks is 18 months!

Our spirited fella turned 18 months old today. He is weighing in at 29 lbs 8.2 oz and is 32 3/4 inches tall. (For comparison's sake, Beckham was 25 lbs 1.0 oz and 33 inches tall.)

He still has almost all the same rolls, but he does something new for us every day. He's continuously popping out with words we didn't know he knew or doing new things (mostly mischievous) that we didn't know he knew how to do. Some of his favorite words are bath, ball, stars, eyes, poopy, down, thomas, george, daddy, mommy, bubby, baby, book, and tibdo (to name a few). Some of his favorite things to do are climb (he conquered the baby gates this week), eat, dance, run, bathe, and just be outside.

Scott and I have noticed for a while now how bow-legged and pigeon-toed Brooks is. The pediatrician doesn't seem concerned, though. She did mention she couldn't tell whether he was cross-eyed or not (I think NOT). Let's just hope I don't end up eating my words :)

Brooks is a perfect little blessing with a LOT of personality. He is surrounded by lots of love and has a lot to offer in return. He gives the world's best kisses with his juicy lips. We love you very much, Rumbles. Happy 18 months!

My 31st Birthday!

. . . And I don't look a day over 21- ha!
(I'll keep telling myself that!)
On my birthday, plans were set for Scott to take me on a surprise dinner outing. The surprise being the destination location. I opened presents as soon as Scott got home from work (with a little help from two handsome little fellas). Among my gifts were the clock I've been asking for, a dust buster, and a
VS gift card. . .
Mom watched the boys while Scottie swept me off on our date. The whole way there, Scott had to pep talk himself into having an appetite. He got hit with food poisoning 2 short days before my birthday and hadn't had hardly anything to eat up until that point! We pulled into the ghetto in Inman Park just as the GPS said, "You have reached your destination on right." If I recall correctly, a few choice words slipped out before we realized the warehouse on our right was actually a really fancy restaurant and bar inside- haha! He took me to Rathbun's Restaurant where we proceeded to eat Edamame Pot Stickers, Dry-aged Ribeye with blue cheese mashed potatoes, Double-boned Lamb Chops, and a Key-lime Brulee. Scott appeared to have no problems (nor did I) eating nearly every bite of our dinner!
Today, we had some of Scott's fam over for a low country boil. I received more wonderful gifts of monies, gift cards, and a beautiful scarf and necklace. Scott presented a delicious Hummingbird cake from a local bakery, Gabriel's.
Beckham helped me blow out the candles on the count of three, with a well-deserved high five afterwards.

Thanks to everyone for the phone calls, cards, gifts, texts, and facebook posts. I truly felt like the princess that I am for my birthday this year :)

You want me to what!?!
Oh! Okay!
Now what do I do with it?

Riley Reynolds

The boys and I took Miss Anne and Baby Reynolds a little gift after Beckham got out of school last Wednesday. They were so cute looking at the baby. They of course had to play with all the baby toys and doo-dads, but they also looked at Baby Riley and gave him kisses on top of his head. So sweet! It was great to see Anne in all her glory as a new mom :)

"Star" Cookies

I've been using cookie cutters to cut Beckham's sandwiches into fun shapes every day for school. He got it in his head that he wanted a "Star" cookie. When I pick him up from school I ask if he liked his ___ sandwich (fill in the blank with whatever shape I gave him that day). He has been very disgruntled with his responses and re-emphasizes that "I wanted a Star cookie!" So, with much encouragement and reminding to be in a good mood yesterday, he was rewarded with a baking session with Mommy :)
He even got to pick out his own sprinkles!

Apparently Star cookies make for a VERY happy boy :)
