First Haircuts

And I say first because. . . this is the first time I've cut the hair on top of Brooks' head and this is the first time Beckham has gotten a haircut without screaming and crying. (I think cutting Brooks' hair first played a key role in that.) Hallelujah!

Beckham's 3rd Birthday

Beckham turned 3-years-old last Tuesday! It was the perfect birthday. . . no tears (for him or me-haha). It was as low-key as you can get. There weren't a million people in our house, it didn't matter how the weather was, Scott didn't throw out his back, and I didn't have any hormonal breakdowns. Beckham was just thrilled that he was turning 3 and that all the attention was on him for a change. We started out the day at the grocery store to pick out a cake, then we came home and played outside for a little while. Scott brought home a 'Pie in the Sky' pizza for dinner (no cooking- yay!). . .

Then Beckham opened his gifts. Brooks got him a Buzz Lightyear cell phone. And Mommy and Daddy got him a grill, some new shirts, Beauty and the Beast, and Buzz and Woody pajamas. (He also received several cards and generous gifts from family. Thank you all for making him feel so special on his birthday.)

We finished the day with singing, candles, more candles, and some cake.

On Wednesday, Beckham celebrated his birthday at school. I brought in Rice Krispy Treats, we sang, and he handed out goody-bags to all his friends.

Trick or Treat

As is always the tradition, Scott picked out an "awesome" design and Beckham and Scott gutted. . .
carved. . .
and lit the pumpkin.
Then Sunday night, the boys dressed up as the cutest pirate and cowboy you've ever seen and we went Trick or Treating. Amanda was wonderful enough to hand out candy so both Scott and I could go.

Beckham insisted on hiking it to every house. I think he only let Scott pick him up once.
(Thanks a million, Amanda!)

Halloween Festivities

Beckham's class had a Halloween party last Wednesday, so we had a dress rehearsal Tuesday night. . .

Apparently Beckham's costume didn't make it through the morning, but all the munchkins looked adorable (complete costumes or not).

Check out Beckham's seat- best in the house. If he is as chatty as his Mommy was, he'd be getting shushed all day!

We had the luxury of standing in like 100% humidity waiting to take a hay ride and visit the "pumpkin patch". The kids were great sports.

Brooks enjoyed the party, too. He was so excited I finally put him down- he pulled all the books out of the basket and took off!
