Ga-ga-ga-da Dream!

AE and Ollie-gator

Ollie and Annelies had their birthday party the same day as Harrison and MK, but we couldn't go :( Instead, we drove out after school on Monday and spent the afternoon with them. The boys had a great time playing while us girls got fancy making headbands. We had so much fun. Brooks wiped out less than 2 minutes into the ride home and didn't budge when I brought him in and changed him into his jams. That was one tired boy!

Monkey See Monkey Do

Harrison and Millie Kate

Saturday was the celebration of our friends Harrison and Millie Kate. Harrison turned 5 in August and MK turns 2 next month! The boys were super excited because the party was at none other than "the block store"! (no pics 'cause my battery was about to die~ i needed to save it 'til the end)

Bike-a-thon

We took advantage of a lazy day last week to take the boys to the basketball court and practice biking. Brooks does a decent job on his little Thomas trike, but Beckham has had a hard time catching on to that pedaling stuff.
He usually bores of it pretty quick, but the cheer-leading squad standing at the ready boosted his enthusiasm. He got up to a whopping 18 rotations without stopping!
After biking, we took a walk down to the ponds and climbed on the rocks (that are usually under water). Beckham tried to venture out on the dirt in between the rocks. Unfortunately it was deceivingly dry and he sunk into the "man hole". What could have been stressful and disastrous was actually quite hilarious :)

Look Who's Potty Training!

A Spectacular Birthday Extravaganza

This year my birthday fell on a Saturday, so I took the weekend off of work so I could truly enjoy it! We started celebrating Friday night with dinner (El Rodeo), gifts (a laptop), and cake (tiramisu).
You have no idea how happy it made me to finally get a laptop!!!
YUM!
Don't I have great helpers?

Saturday Scott and I dropped the boys off with his parents and went to Athens for the day. We've only been back once (for a football game) since he graduated, so we haven't gotten to enjoy the town at all. First stop was Trans-Met for lunch~ my favorite sandwich (grilled chicken and pesto with balsamic vin. dipping sauce).
 Don't I look like a happy girl?!?
Next we walk down memory lane strolling through the campus. (Above: we waited out the rain under a building entrance)
We visited the bookstore, the Tate Center, and Sanford Stadium. Then we walked down and saw our home away from home for 2 years, Myers.
After our long walk, we got in the car and saw more fun things, like the tree that owns itself. We took a break from the tourist activities and stopped at the movie theater to see 'The Campaign'- hilarious!
On our way back home, we stopped downtown again for some picture opportunities. . .

On Sunday, we spent the afternoon at my mom's celebrating. . . ME!
I got them to sing "Happy Birthday" to me not once, not twice, but THREE times!
The kids had a blast with their cousins, and I had fun visiting with my new nephew ;) Fozzie.
Check out the beautiful sunflowers my mom gave me, and the wildflowers from my niece Annelies. LOVE!
And to top it all off, we celebrated with Scott's family the following Sunday. We watched Brandon kick butt in soccer, then had a delicious grilled steak dinner and more cake.

Thanks to EVERYONE for making my 32nd birthday so special!

The Things I Love About You. . .

Thibideaux, I love that you will always be my first born child :)
I love that you are the best dog to Beckham and Brooks.
I love that when I put my running shoes on your tail starts wagging.
I love that you are so patient with me as a "mommy".
I love you, Lord Thibideaux Waggington!

Beckham, I love that you are such a tender-hearted little guy.
I love that you're sad when I'm crying, you still want to snuggle with me at night, and you like to put your feet on my belly button.
I love it when you are sweet with your bubby (even though its not that often) and when you show him how to do things.
I love that you love science so much.
I love the way your imagination works, coming up with new stories all the time.
I love you, my Little Prince. You will forever be "my baby".

Brooksie-wooks, I love that you aren't afraid to be yourself.
I love that you can be so outrageous one minute and smother me in kisses the next.
I love your kisses and those big juicy lips.
I love that your toys already talk to each other and that your socks quickly become puppets each day.
I love that you go 90 miles a minute one second and the next you are snoring.
I love you, my little buddy, and all the terrible-two's that come with you!

And Scottie-Angel, I love you for all of your understanding, patience, and guidance.
I love that you understand being "Mommy" is a full-time job.
I love that you have patience with my house keeping.
I love that you have patience with the boys (most of the time).
I love that you are able to calm me and bring me to my senses in those moments I don't have patience :)
You are the love of my life.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me!

August 2012

I have no idea why I never get around to blogging in the month of August. Maybe its extreme exhaustion from going all summer long. Maybe its the anticipation of things to come, so nothing that is happening seems significant. Or maybe August just doesn't exist. . . No matter the reason, I completely missed the month of August this year and will now catch you up on what went down:
 Daddy made milkshakes
 Jenga
Just being cute

 Grandma Helen's 86th birthday
playing with Lego's at Grandma and Pap-pap's

 Beckham's first day of Pre-K.
(the picture is deceiving- tears were shed)
discovering our pet garden spider. . .
and feeding him ;)
Brooks simultaneously gave up his nap and moved into a big boy bed. We couldn't have him climbing out of his crib and breaking his neck!
 Brooks' first day of preschool!
(Hallelujah! Free time for Mommy!)
Beckham helped me drop Brooks off.
I had 2 mad boys- Brooks because I sneaked out and Beckham because he had it in his head he was coming home with me???

After school fun. . .
 Thibideaux enjoyed the sprinkler, too!

The things that happen when I'm in the kitchen making dinner!
Yep, this is how we roll ;)

And some more after school activity. Apparently I started a tradition of sugar cookies after school last year!

I hope everyone else had a great August! Can't wait to share September with you all.
