We have made HUGE progress in the world of Parker this week! Beckham has decided to be a big boy and take ALL of his milk from a BOTTLE! It was so much easier than we thought it would be. . .

Beckham's My Name, Playings My Game
Our little munchkin is a busy boy. If he's not reading his books, then he is busy tearing apart the house. Scott and I have given up on cleaning up after him until he goes to bed each night. . .

His new favorite place to crawl is behind the sofas. I know the picture isn't great, but you try to get a GOOD picture of a baby crawling behind a piece of furniture at 60 miles/hour!
By looking at this picture, you'd think he was walking by now. Oh, no. He still insists on holding our hands and dragging us all around the house. And if we don't go where ever it is he wants to go (i.e. the stairs or outside) he throws his hands down and screams. Fun, right? Well, this weekend was the first occasion that he let me let go and he walked 3 or 4 steps. Now when I try to back away so he can take steps, he drops to his knees and cries. I know, all in good time. . .

Beckham's Got A Girlfriend
I take Beckham to a playgroup in our neighborhood every Wednesday. Today, he and Emily were the only one's to show up, so they got some good one-on-one time. At first Emily was petting him on the head, then Beckham went in for a big smoocharoo and got pushed away. Oh, well, maybe next time.

Let's Get Together, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!
Since Beckham turned one, our weekends have been packed with famiy and friend get togethers. . .
We went to Carraba's to celebrate Uncle Ben's 33rd birthday .
He was surrounded by family just for him. It's a rare occasion he gets his own birthday party, with all of the kids in the family now. . .
We went to the future Mrs. Logan's house for a Thanksgiving potluck where Beckham got some good playtime in with best-bud Harrison.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BECKHAM!
Has a whole year already passed? Our precious, little bambino has gotten so big right before our eyes!!! We've watched him go from sleeping to wiggling to rolling to crawling to practically walking. That is way too much action for one short, little year. We had a wonderful birthday party to mark the occasion. Beckham was surrounded by friends and family who couldn't have been more excited that he was turning 1! He even got a phone call from Pittsburgh for his Great Grandma Parker and others to sing "Happy Birthday" to him. We were so fortunate he stayed in good spirits, because even though we planned his party around naptime, Beckham REFUSED to take a nap! He had fun playing with all of his little friends in their costumes, then opening presents (of which there were WAY too many, might I add), and finishing things off with some delicious MELTED cupcakes. Yeah, I said melted. It wouldn't be a Missy-creation if it didn't go wrong the first time I tried to make it- just ask Scott. We had a beautiful slideshow of Beckham pictures playing in the background while he opened his presents, courtesy of yours truely. (Let me know if you want a copy.) THANK YOU, EVERYONE, FOR HELPING MAKE BECKHAM'S FIRST BIRTHDAY A VERY SPECIAL ONE. (EVEN THOSE OF YOU WHO LIVE SO FAR AWAY THAT YOU HAD TO SEND YOUR WISHES THROUGH THE MAIL.) WE LOVE YOU ALL!
Cousins and friends and birthday boys, oh my!

Delicious, melted cupcakes!
Listening to the singing skills of Pittsburghians
Saying "hi" to cousin Oliver
Saying "bye" to best-bud Harrison

He finished off the night playing with some of his new bath-time toys!
