Summer, Finally!

Last week the kids were in long-sleeves and it was a high of 60 degrees. This week the highs are in the 90's and this is what they're wearing. . .
Scott and I took them down to the neighborhood pool for an hour on Saturday. Since that preview proved to be more than I could handle on my own, we stayed home for some water fun today.
Thibideaux got in on the action, too. He got doused with the hose and ran through the sprinkler.
I'm so glad I pulled the sprinkler out when I did (they were starting to get bored with the baby pool). For two little boys who aren't fond of water in their faces, check out this action. . .

And of course Mr. Fearless himself had to climb on the soaking wet Jeep.
Happy Summer, People!!

Making Memories

Scott and I spending quality time outside the house is few and far between. Yesterday, Amanda came to watch the boys, so we planned a day filled with fun! First stop was the ice skating rink. Scott bought himself some skates with his birthday money last month and has made it out a few times to practice. . .

Afterwards, we went to the movies and saw "Something Borrowed". It made me so happy. I can't even remember the last time we went to the theater to see a chick-flick.
Scott sucked it up and I thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Then we went to Ted's Montana Grill for dinner.
THANK YOU, SCOTTIE, FOR TREATING ME LIKE THE PRINCESS I AM! (haha)

Showering Baby Abigail

I can't believe I forgot to blog this sooner!
We had a shower for Tara and Baby Abigail last Sunday at the very chic "Einstein's" in Midtown Atlanta. It was such a delight to see all of the PINK!
In lieu of greeting cards, we gave books. I wish I could claim it, but Gina got her this one. I love it!
These cake balls were scrumptious!
And Katie rocked out another growth chart. Don't you love the nursery theme?- It's Dr. Suess! The daddy-to-be has painted some incredible murals on the nursery walls.
And finally, my delicious meal- Shrimp & Grits. YUM!!

Happy baby, Tara! We can't wait to meet her :)

Schools Out For The Summer!!!

Beckham had his last day of preschool today and we had an outdoor party to celebrate. The kids were all SUPER excited! They ate some yummy snacks then posed for some pictures together. . .Miss Ginger and Miss Mariann did such a great job of wrangling the little rascals all year. Kudos to them!

Beckham has declared that Anna Kate is his girlfriend :)
And as a memento of the school year, each child went home with a scrapbook all about them. How cool is that!?!

Sidenote: Notice the date is May 18th and all the kids are wearing long sleeves! It was only 55 degrees outside at noon! Summer, where are you???

Mother's Day

I know I'm a little late posting it, but I had an absolutely WONDERFUL Mother's Day this year! Scott created a feast for my mother and I and it was d-e-licious! He made not one, but two kinds of bruschetta for hors deuvres. Then dinner was Garlic-crusted roast rack of lamb, roasted beets, and risotto. Mmm,mmm, good!
Both before and after dinner, Scott gave my mom and I time to just sit and talk (uninterrupted). It was so nice! He took care of the dishes and bath time with no complaints :)
I was rewarded with a promise of a day to myself to get my hair did and my nails done and whatever else I can fit in with no kids in tow :) I was also given this beautiful display of flowers crafted by my talented 3 year old who painted and glued all by himself! (Just in case you can't tell by looking at it, he is sticking his tongue out in the picture- haha!)

And the two reasons I get to be called "Mommy". . .
All in a day's work. I threw Brooks in some clothes and took the boys to the grocery store one day last week. They got chocolate chip cookies at the bakery, and Brooks DESTROYED his! I had to wipe him down with a wet paper towel before I could put him in my car. But look how happy it made him :)

Spring Fling 2011

The best time that Beckham has had at school to date! It was a long but good morning. Brooks and I showed up at the school early in the morning to cheer Beckham and his friends on as they played on all of the fun things.
They were all super excited to get started with the day. As you can see, Beckham made sure he was first in line :)
They had a ring toss (or rather a placing of the rings).
Brooks was a little pissed when he realized I had no intentions of taking him out of the stroller.
They played with a parachute.
Then began the string of not one, not two, but FIVE bounce houses! Talk about preschooler heaven!
#1 Firetruck
Brooks played with Hannah's little sister. They were both stroller bound, missing their naps, and trying to make the best of it :)
A job well done!
#2 The carousel
#3 The Snake

#4 The giant slide (Beckham looks terrified in this pic, but I swear he loved it. He went back for seconds and thirds all by himself)
#5 The Big Rig
And naptime caught up with Brooks.
Beckham and Anna Kate were all too enthusiastic about holding hands on their way to the train.

But the same enthusiasm was not there when the "face-painter" gave him a tattoo. How dare she! Haha!
After a snack and a little rest, the munchkins were back in the games. They had some bean bag throwing. . .
And more bean bag throwing.
Then the mildly exhausted young'uns received their "#1" medals for finishing all their activities.
The once very hyper boogers had no energy to even stand and pose for a pic when all was said and done!
We finished off the morning with some burgers and dogs on the grass, then Beckham was treated to a grape snow cone for the ride home. Naptime here we come!
