Second Haircut

I took Beckham for his second haircut today. He wiggled and squirmed the entire time, but the lady worked her magic. He looks so handsome. He did great holding the tears in until she turned the blowing-thing on to blow some loose hairs away. The picture speaks a thousand words. . .

Uh-oh, Spaghettio!

A Birthday Party to Remember

What a fun birthday party! My niece, Annelies, turned 6, and my nephew, Oliver, turned 2. They had a big birthday party in their backyard on Saturday with pony rides, a petting zoo, and a pinata. It was SO cool! Beckham was a sleepy boy, but he joined in the festivities. . . Grammy showing Beckham one of the adorable bunnies.

MAKE A WISH!!

I followed in my sister's footsteps this year and had a week-long celebration for my birthday. I had a leg-of-lamb birthday dinner made by my wonderful husband, and we enjoyed some delicious Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake from The Boxcar Cheesecake Cafe on Saturday (then I had to go to work). Sunday we made some Gyro wraps out of left-overs and endulged in more cheesecake (then I went to work again). While at work, I got the traditional "happy birthday" call at midnight from my loving husband. He stayed home from work all day Monday so I could sleep on my birthday. I was in heaven!! Typically I stay awake and take care of Beckham after working all night. When I got up, we hit up Provino's for an early-bird free birthday dinner. Beckham LOVED his meatball, beets, and chickpeas. Tuesday we took it easy, but Wednesday I began a new celebration. The celebration of a new kitchen floor!!!

OLD KITCHEN FLOORS
We have lived in our house for over 3 years and have wanted to re-do the floors since we moved in. So, it took 2 days, but we have new kitchen floors now.
NEW KITCHEN FLOORS
Friday I went to dinner and a movie with some girlfriends. And Saturday we had mine and Scott's families over for a cook-out and cupcakes. Whew! It was a long week, but I enjoyed it. Its okay for them to be long when you get to be the princess the whole week :)

Such a Big Boy

Beckham walks on his knees behind his new walking toy. He hasn't figured out how to keep his balance in the standing position.
He LOVES playing the piano.

He drinks from a sippy-cup now.

And he's figured out how to sit on his walking toy (like his cousin Oliver).

PANDA!

Every night before Beckham goes to bed, Scott reads him a bedtime story. His favorite is "Just Like Daddy". He helps turn the pages until he gets to the panda-bear page. As soon as he sees the Daddy panda, his face lights up and he dives in for smooches. . . Going in for the make-out session. The after-shock of good panda smooches.

Where did August go?

Well, the last post I wrote was from Beckham's 9-month appt at the beginning of August. We have had a month full of exciting events that we have shared with friends and family. Grandma Helen turned 82 this month, Beckham's best bud Harrison turned 1, Beckham got his two top teeth, and he has kept Scott and I thoroughly entertained by the new things he can do (and get into).Katie & Harrison posing with Beckham & I at Harrison's birthday party
Harrison is wearing PGA Master's overalls and Beckham is looking like Zoolander
He loves to open the entertainment unit and pull things out
He likes to bang on the stereo
He loves to shut himself in our closet and play
And he loves to play in the bathroom!!
Other things going on in Beckham's world: he says "Dadadada and Yayayaya" but never "Mamamama". He stands up in his bed and bangs his little body against the rails and either screams or squeels depending on his mood. He will play in his crib for 30 minutes before passing out in what ever position he was in last. He opens and closes any door he can figure out. He eats off of our plates, and much to our chagrin, will yell if he wants more and we are not fast enough. He plays with the window blinds, banging them together to make noise or hiding behind them. He enjoys playing the piano and guitar. He absolutely loves playing in the dog's water dish. And he almost always falls asleep in the car (whether its naptime or not). So, there you are for a little insight into the world of Beckham. The countdown is on for the little guy to start walking. He pulls up, cruises, holds hands, and walks on his knees. Keep checking out the posts. I'll let you know as soon as those first steps are walked!
