Amanda Parker turned 25 years old today (if you ask her, she's a quarter of a century with one foot in the grave). We dined at Provino's to celebrate the event. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Afterward, we headed to the casa de Parker for gifts and family time. We took some forever-treasurable family photos on the back porch, then went indoors to visit and show our skills at Wheel of Fortune. It was a very pleasant evening, and I only hope that Amanda feels the same.

He Was a Splishin' and a Splashin'
After our strawberry picking adventures, we wandered over to the Mountain Park Water Park where the kids had even more fun! We spent the better part of our afternoon riding the lazy river, being splashed by waterfalls, and climbing on the giant playground in the middle of the pool.
Then on to a celebration of 25 years of Amanda!

Strawberry Shortcake
We went with my sister and her 5 munchkins. They all had so much fun. It was a competition to see who could pick the most strawberries. I think Shanna and I won.
Does it get any cuter than a strawberry-smeared mug?
Shanna looked way cuter than me, so she got to have her picture taken. I, on the other hand, didn't think ahead and wore BLACK. Uggghhh. I was a sweaty mess. We hopped into the car afterwards and made a pit stop at Wendy's, where everyone devoured their lunches. I've never seen Beckham eat chicken nuggets that fast!
Then on to the next adventure: water park.

Go Pens!
Here in the Parker household, we are very excited about the success of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. They will be competing in the Stanley Cup next week (for the second year in a row). Very exciting! As a tribute to his team, Scott has grown a "playoff beard". Further updates will be provided when the beard finally comes off.

Mother's Day
So I've fallen a little behind on the blogging. Let's rewind a few weeks to Mother's Day. I got home from work Sunday morning to a sweet card from Beckham and another from Scott, along with a painting that has been on my "want" list for a while. (so excited)
After a short nap and some family grocery shopping, we had Scott's family over for dinner. Scott whipped up a fine cuisine: Greek Salad and Chicken Scallopini. Amanda added to the menu with her delicious Carrot Cake. When all was said and done, it was a success. We even exchanged a few gifts, including Beckham's first art project. He made three in all (one for me, Grammy, and Grandma). Needless to say, they were a big hit.
I wish I had gotten pictures of him making his works of art because he had so much fun, but I was too busy making sure he didn't wipe paint all over my new kitchen table. Maybe next time.
On Tuesday following Mother's Day, Grammy came up for some good visiting. I made pork tenderloin, baked sweet potatoes, green beans, and rolls. Mmmmm! And we watched the American Idol finals (which I don't condone, but I was willing to do whatever my Mommy wanted). So, all mommies were made to feel special this wonderful Hallmark Holiday! I hope yours was great, as well.

18 months
Beckham is just growing like a weed! He is currently 25 lbs, 1.0 oz. and 33 inches long. His appt was so classic. Everytime the doctor would ask a question about his development, I didn't even need to answer because he would demonstrate. She asked me if he could say at least ten words. I told her he knew more than 100. I started to wonder if I had exaggerated, so I made a list of all the words Scott and I have heard him say on a regular basis and there were 110!! I didn't even include the words "rhino", "off" and "hand" that he has learned over the last day. We're so proud of our little walking dictionary.

Summer Has Arrived
Since the weather is warmer, I went to the store in search for a baby pool for our Little Prince. Even though the air is warm, the water is still ICE cold. He wouldn't sit in the pool, but he did plenty of walking around and climbing in and out. . .
