Results of Their Modeling Debut

The boys did some free-lance modeling back in April for a neighbor of mine who sells on ETSY. I used the opportunity to get Brooks' 1-years made as well as some brother shots. I love this one!

My Little VanGogh's

A coworker had given me this fantastic idea of outdoor finger paints. It was one of the best things we've done so far this summer! It involved painting and hose spraying and the boys didn't get bored or in trouble because they could play with other toys and clean them with the hose. PERFECT!

I believe this was about the point I went to turn the hose on and Beckham proceeded to make hand prints all the way across Brooks' back. Hate that I didn't get a picture of it :)

Cars 2

This little boy has been so pumped up about seeing"Cars 2" at the movie theater!! Every time a preview came on our t.v. he would get upset because he only wanted to watch it at the movie theater :) Scott and I have never left Brooks at home so that we could both spend some quality time with Beckham together, so we took the opportunity to do just that. Uncle Sean swooped in to save the day and watch Brooks. We took him to an afternoon showing and saw it in a 3D RPX theater. If you've never experienced it, we highly recommend it! RPX= Regal Premium Experience. We had leather seats with moveable armrests, HD audio and the afore-mentioned 3D. It was AWESOME!! Beckham had a good time (even though he fell asleep for the last 10 minutes of the movie. He didn't dig the 3D glasses so much, so he watched the blurry version. He was super excited about getting his picture with "Lightning McQueen" afterwards, though.

Father's Day 2011

We had a wonderful day for Father's Day this year. Scott wanted to share his new past-time with everyone, so we went ice skating. Dad and Amanda stayed home with Brooks, Mom made it one lap around the rink, and the rest of us skated nearly the full 2 hours. It was Sean, Brandon, and Beckham's first time on ice. They all did great!!

Bench warmers :)

Back home again, the dads opened gifts
(Scott straightening his tie)
Scott and I served everyone a beautiful dinner of steak, crab cakes, spinach salad, fruit salad, and asparagus. It was scrumptious!!
And we had a delicious cake courtesy of Amanda for Dad's birthday. Beckham took it upon himself to blow out the candles midway through "Happy Birthday".
And after relighting the candles, Dad got to make a wish.
"These people are CRAZY!"

The "Block Store"

Beckham begged all week to go to the "block store", so I finally gave in and took them on Thursday. . .

It was so different to go all by myself with 2 WALKING kids. Beckham was so excited to finally do the rope swing. He was a little perturbed he had to wait in line again after each turn, though.

More Daddy and Beckham Time

Beckham recently acquired a fishing pole as a potty present. He has been super excited about using it, so Scott took him to the "duck pond" last night. They were greeted by a thirsty deer :)
And had a great time fishing. Beckham talked Scott's ears off the whole time- haha!
And then he caught a fish "THIS BIG"! According to Beckham it had "lots of spiky things on it".

Mommy & Brooksy Time

Beckham severely needed a nap yesterday afternoon! While big brother slept, I tried to find some quiet things for Brooks and I to do. This is what I came up with. . .

(And some dinner prep-time entertainment.)

What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up. . .

We went to a BBQ restaurant one night last week. Dinner was a little wild, but the boys had a blast investigating the old fire engine outside afterwards.

Big Boy Beckham

Beckham is growing up so fast! We went today to get his haircut at the barber. He watched me cut Brooks' yesterday and insisted that the barber do his hair, not Mommy :) Whatever makes him happy! He no longer throws any semblance of a fit about getting his haircut. In fact, he actually enjoys it! Sweet relief!
So, not only does he behave at the barber shop, he has moved up to sitting in a booster seat in the car. My sweet boy is big enough to ride in the car without a 5-point harness. And so far, we haven't had any issues with him unbuckling while the car is in motion.
He is also progressing by leaps and bounds at bed time. He no longer needs a railing on the side of his bed! He is also very good about getting out of bed and going potty if he feels the urge while he's still awake. He is completely potty-trained by day!
Another area of pride is getting dressed. Beckham can now put on his own undies, pants, shirt, and shoes.
Way to go, big guy!!

Brooks is 15 Months

Brooks is 15 months old and weighs 26 pounds 13.4 ounces. He is 32 inches long. He can walk, run, jump, and climb. He can give hugs, kisses, blow kisses, and flirt. He can also scream, throw himself on the ground in a fit of rage, and bite. He is full of things to say these days. He can say mama, dada, and baba as well as nie-nie (nite-nite), a-da (all done), shu-shu (shoes), choo-choo, ju-ju (juice), bye-bye, hayo (hello), ayayu (i love you), ti-do (Thibideaux), and a few others. He has 10 teeth and 2 more on their way in. He loves playing outside, harassing his big brother, and making messes. He hates sitting still for more than 5 seconds and being scolded. Brooks is a very loving and very loved little boy. He is our "Rumblin' Man", our "Yella Fella", our "Brother Ed".

Laser Spectacular 2011

Ah, memories! I remember every summer with my family, we would pack our blankets and pillows and go to Stone Mountain for the Laser Show. I loved it! It was full of patriotism and ended with a huge display of fireworks (through which I had to cover my ears).

Fast-forward to summer before my Senior year (1998). This awesome guy named Scott had already taken me on one terrific date. We ate at Chili's and saw "Armageddon". But our second date went down on the records as the best date EVER. We went to Frontera and the Laser Show. We shared a bag of Jelly Bellies during the show and waited out the forever long procession out of the park by blasting New Kids On The Block and Vanilla Ice and singing at the top of our lungs.
Now, here we are 13 years later, revisiting the place that our story began with 2 kids in tow. I love that we get to create new memories with our family at such a wonderful place!!

We got to the park a couple hours before the show. The boys had a great time running around and sugaring up. We had pop, dip 'n dots, and watermelon. But they were able to stay awake until the moment we pulled out of the parking lot- haha!
When Mom, Dad, and Brando arrived, Beckham wrapped Uncle Brandon around his finger and talked him in to walking down to the fountain at the base of the mountain.

And finally, darkness appeared and we were able to get on with the show! Beckham stayed curled up with Brando a majority of the time.
And Mom did what Grandma's were born to do- bought her grandbabies sparkly light-up wands.
We had a wonderful time at the "new and improved" Laser Show and can't wait to go again next year :)
