Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail

Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail!
Or right through our yard this morning :)
Which was fitting because Beckham had his Easter Party at school today.
The Easter Bunny came to "visit" for 5.2 seconds.
Then he left some eggs on the playground for the munchkins to "hunt".

Beckham and his lady friends took a moment at the end of the party to show me their plants and caterpillars.
It was actually pretty cool because the caterpillars were in the middle of building their "chrysalises".
Along the same train of thought. . . we had a visit from a little green 4-legged friend during lunch the other day. Beckham just had to go say "hi".

Easter 2011 Part II

We took the boys to Snellville and spent the rest of Easter Sunday at el casa de Parker. Beckham and Brooks had more baskets waiting for them when we got there. After eating a few pieces of candy and passing out hugs and kisses. . .
we had an egg hunt!
Once Brooks had an egg in each hand and some candy in his mouth, he lost interest.
But Beckham kept hunting until all the eggs were found.
And the family stood by to cheer them on.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying each others' company. Scott opened birthday presents from the family. And Amanda made it in time for dinner. We dined on leg of lamb, a summer salad, corn on the cob, collard greens, german potato salad, and rolls. Everything was delish!

Before we headed home, we squeezed in a family photo session. Thanks, Sean!

In true Easter spirit. . .

P.S. Beckham goes to a Catholic preschool and proudly shared the following information with Scott when they were talking about Easter. And I quote, "The soldiers were playing a game and nailed Jesus to the cross!" Only a 3-year-old! What must he think?

Easter 2011

This picture says it ALL! We celebrated the age-old tradition of dying eggs on Saturday. While Beckham dyed the eggs (and his hands). . .
Brooks observed while cramming Fig Newtons in his mouth.
Beckham and Brooks each had an egg with their names on it.

After they dried, we put stickers all over them and put them in their holders. Beckham had fun moving them around the table like cars.
Before going to bed Saturday night, the boys left a carrot out for the Easter Bunny. They found this note waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs when they woke up.
And they had baskets waiting on the coffee table.
Beckham was super pumped about his Toy Story watch with interchangeable faces (not pictured here because it was already on his wrist). And Brooks just had fun pulling everything out of the baskets.
He did think he was pretty cool in his new Mickey sunglasses, though!

Beckham eating Pop Rocks- too funny!

How Can This Be Comfy?

P.S. He was asleep until the camera flashed

Gettin' Their Hockey On. . . And More

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend! We enjoyed the sunshine and took full advantage of it :) The boys went to the "hockey net store" and bought a hockey net Saturday. They played in the garage all afternoon.
But Sunday, we took it down to the basketball court so we could have bigger fun! We spent the afternoon in downtown Kennesaw at the Big Shanty Festival- our town's version of every other town's festival (minus a parade). The boys were in heaven- corn dogs, cotton candy, and coke for lunch. Then Beckham got his first experience in a port-a-potty before we gave him free reign of the bounce houses. Awesome afternoon!
The basketball court didn't happen until after dinner. Again, the boys were in heaven. Fresh air, lots of running, and balls. Balls are always fun :) Brooks insisted on bringing his cowboy hat. Love that munchkin!

And Scott is loving breaking in his new rollerblades I got him for our anniversary. Romantic, right? Atleast he is having fun!

Future goalie?
Or will he be handing out free candy?
And while Scott continued to play hockey, I took the boys on the playground for a few minutes. I wanted to be part of the picture extravaganza, so I let Beckham take a few pics of me and Brooks. This is the end result of letting him use my giant camera. His little fingers are a lot better on his little camera :)

We hope everyone else is enjoying their spring as much as we are! Happy Spring!

Scott Turns the Big 3-0!

Scottie came home for lunch yesterday to find a chalk message on the sidewalk, homemade coconut cake, and a pile of presents just for him. The best lunch break ever!
Beckham did a fine job of opening the presents for him.

Scott also got to open a couple on his own.
And Beckham softened up enough to give him a big birthday butz.
Then the boys got together to blow out the candles.

Only Beckham got upset because he wanted to do it all by himself :(

After lunch, Scott headed back to work for some more MDI fun. But when he got home from work, Grammy was waiting at the house to watch the boys so we could go "out on the town". We tried the Italian restaurant in Acworth that we've been talking about trying for 6 years now, then went to two different movie theaters only to find that a) nothing showed for another hour and b) nothing looked good. So, we put our heads together and ended up at a local pub, Bailey's, to drink some beer and watch the first game of the NHL Playoffs in which the Penguins shut Tampa Bay out. Go Pens! Tell me Scott didn't get the best of both worlds- being out of the house AND watching the Pens win :) Happy Birthday, Scottie Angel.
