LOVE This Boy!

Some funny things Beckham has said recently:

We were eating dinner one night and I asked him how it was. He says, "I like it, Mom. No, I love it, Rissa Anne Parker!
"

When trying to fall asleep during the thunderstorm he was singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" to himself.

We were watching a movie and I turned the volume up. He says, "Oh, man! Now I messed up the movie!"

A Week in the Making

This week has been a week of "firsts" for us. Nothing big, but. . .
Brooks has been introduced to the Johnny Jumper. He's not doing much aside from hitting the toy and turning in circles, but its something!
We managed to go out to dinner as a family for Father's Day. We ate at Los Reyes. . . Mmmm! Margaritas!Ole!
The boys have gotten in a routine of snuggling in the morning.
And I got out the baby pool for Becks so I didn't have to break my back trying to take the boys to the pool by myself. He enjoyed splashing around and watering all the plants with his watering can.

A Reason for Celebration

The Parker clan went on an Alaskan cruise this week, so we celebrated Tim's birthday and Father's Day a week early. We have had the pleasure of having Grandma Helen stay with us while they are gone. Beckham has LOVED it! He can't get enough of Great Grandma. She's been such a trooper playing with his trains and reading him books.

Wordless Wednesday

Free Movies

Anything free is good- especially when you have an infant and toddler in tow. So I took Beckham and Brooks to Regal Cinemas this morning for their free movie extravaganza that they put on over the summer. We made it about half way through 'Tale of Despereaux' before packing up and heading to the park. The sitting still thing was definitely not happening, so why not get the energy out where it won't bother anyone, right? He was cute while it lasted, though. He had his little bowl of popcorn, a juice, and his Mickey Mouse PEZ dispenser- all ready to watch a movie (until it actually started-haha).

S'mores

I think Scott gets some kind of medal for this. One of Beckham's favorite books is "Bailey Goes Camping". In the book, Bailey's mom and dad roast marshmallows with him over the stove. Scott being the ingenious daddy that he is, took Beckham on a special trip to the store just for chocolate and graham crackers so they could make s'mores over the stove.
Beckham has been talking about it ever since.

Introducing. . .

The Bumbo! I think Beckham was way older when we finally put him in it, but something had to be done. Brooks is already bored with his playmat and swing, thus wanting to be held all the time. Scott learned (after his first weekend with the boys on his own) that you can only get away with putting him down for 5-10 minute intervals. Ugh!
But look at this face! How can you get upset?!?

Amanda's Birthday

We all gathered at Casa de Parker in Snellville to celebrate Amanda's b-day last Sunday. She was so excited to get some one-on-one time with Brooksy. . .
And Beckham- haha! She opened presents. . .
Squeezed in a little before-dinner dessert, ate some delicious salad, lasagne, and garlic bread, courtesy of Mom & Dad. . .
And made a wish! Happy birthday, Amanda!
