Beckham's Very First Day of School. . . EVER

I swear I don't beat my kid, but he could not have been more excited about his first day of preschool!! Monday morning was Beckham's first day at St. Catherine's. He got to meet his teachers Miss Ginger and Miss Mariann (yes, those are really their names) last Friday. He has been looking forward to it, but was kinda bummed he wasn't going to use his new Thomas back pack- which he now carries as a diaper bag.
We got to the school a few minutes early, so we were the first ones to stand at the door. Mr. Eager Beaver was pacing and looking through the windows.
He couldn't wait to get inside and play. He was looking forward to meeting his new friends, playing with crayons, playing with markers, and playing with paints (or so he says).
When the doors finally opened, he darted to his classroom and found the cars. I didn't get so much as a goodbye, much less a hug or kiss- boohoo! Oh well- I raced home as fast as I could to begin the 4-page list of things that need to be done around the house. Brooks cooperated and slept all morning- hallelujah!

When I showed up to pick Beckham up at noon, he said, "Oh, Mommy! There you are!" It was like pulling teeth, but I was able to get him to tell me about the book they read, what he had for a snack, the toys he played with, the names of some of the kids, and the hand print art he made. He LOVED it and didn't shed a tear. He even got a sticker on his notebook for good behavior!

Splish Splash

We introduced the tub seat this week since Brooks is nearly too big for his infant tub. He was a rock star and loved bathing with big brother Beckham the first night.

I think Beckham liked having company, too! Unfortunately, he didn't do so hot the second night we put him in it. He was so tired, he couldn't or wouldn't sit up. I guess we'll be sticking with the baby bath a little longer :)

5 months

Brooks turned five months last Thursday! I can't believe he is already that old ;( He is such a busy little guy and is meeting another milestone every time we look at him. As you know, he is eating "real" food now. He loves him some sweet potatoes, carrots, sweet peas, bananas, and peaches. He is hilarious to feed because he yells at you between bites.
He is teething like crazy these days. The first two bottom teeth are right below the surface. He's drooling on, chewing on, and sucking on EVERYTHING!
Now, this is a first for us since Beckham was always too pudgy to reach them. Brooks LOVES his legs and feet. He plays with them all day, just smiling and wiggling his toes. He cracks up when I stick his toes in his mouth or tap his face with them.
And talk about a mover and a shaker! This munchkin can spend an hour in his Johnny Jumper just bouncing away. He also loves to lay on his blanket on the floor and scoot to his toys. He has discovered his hands and how they can reach for things. His playmat has a whole new purpose for him now since he can play with the toys hanging from it!

But this months biggest accomplishment. . . rolling over from his belly to his back! Hooray!!! Except for the part about him rolling over in the middle of the night, getting cold, and waking up- that part is not so cool.

Beckhamisms

The sad day has come that Beckham no longer says "su-sat?", but now says "what is that?"

After expelling the giant crocodile tears that only my kid could have, he says "wipe your eyes". Its as if his long lashes are just too long for him to manage-haha!!

me: Beckham, how many sides does an octagon have? Beckham: eight. And a twenty-gone has twenty sides!

He pointed to my painting of an angel and said it looked like a man eating an ice cream cone-haha!
