An Ollie-Extravaganza

Ollie needed someone to play with while everyone was at work/school on Wednesday, so the boys and I packed it up and headed over for some Ollie fun. Beckham and Ollie beat on each other with some WWE wrestling. . .

Then the fun began!! Ollie came home with us for 2 nights. We began with hotdogs then. . .
ICE CREAM!
Then Beckham and Ollie camped out in their sleeping bags. (I love that the tiger became a part of the action)
. . . 30 minutes later :)
On Thursday, we went to the park amongst other places.

After a morning of nonstop activity, the boys chilled out to a movie and some popcorn.
And after Brooks woke up, we hit the pool!!! The boys were just excited to finally use their new water guns :)

This picture just about sums up the 3 days of Ollie (all the focus was on him~ I'm sure he got sick of all the attention ;))
And we finished off the day with some good 'ole watermelon-eatin' and Jeep-ridin'.
Friday brought more pool time and more Jeep riding. I can honestly say that we enjoyed having our little Ollie as a house guest. The boys cried when he left :(

Rainy Days!

One of the boxes from the patio set brought us hours of fun on a rainy Monday. Coloring, hiding, climbing. . .
The boys played in it right-side-up, upside-down, and sideways. Any way they did it was fun :)

They even ate lunch in their cool fort!
And look what else they figured out :)

Happiest of Mother's Days!

Scott: Hey, Mis. What would you like for Mother's Day (probably thinking in the ballpark of $20)
Me: (wishfully, crossing my fingers) a glider for the back porch

So, my loving husband doesn't just get me a glider, he gets me an entire patio set, too! Then, he sets it up while Beckham and I are at the aforementioned birthday party so we can eat dinner outside before I head to work. What a doll!

On returning home from work, I found a homemade card from all my boys. There were drawings from all 3 of them, and a questionnaire answered by Beckham:
I think my mommy is as pretty as a heart.
My mom is the best at shopping.
I love my mom more than Spiderman.
I like it when my mom take us to the playground!
My mom cooks the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
On Mother's Day, Scott took the boys to his parents (and didn't take the camera). On Tuesday, the boys and I took my mom to lunch and gave her our gift. As you can imagine, both mothers LOVED them! I got the idea from Pinterest for an apothecary jar filled with black and white photo blocks with family pics. They turned out A-MAZ-ING!

Brooks shared some sugar, too. (He even wore his Sunday best- his cowboy hat and his froggy rain boots!)
A glimpse at the jar I made myself.

Gymnastics is for Girls

Okay, so I probably should have realized that this was a "girls only" birthday party, but Beckham was sent an invite and he loves the "block store" so I figured we'd go. . .
He kinda just did his own thing the entire time and played some with the 1 other boy from his class :( He didn't partake in any of the games the rest of the group (all girls) were playing. But I think he still had a good time.
(the birthday girl at her best)
And really, the best thing about a party is the pure exhaustion afterward- haha!

Another Year Passed

Beckham had his last day of school last Thursday. They had a wonderful party to celebrate their farewell. I love that he loves his friends so much! We can't wait to see them some over the summer :)
Brooks spent the entire time on the playground. Never a dull moment!
 More pics with best buds.
And the obligatory pics with his teachers. As you can tell, he was thrilled to stop playing for these ;)

A Bogozan-ish Bar-b-que

One year ago, the Bogozans were supposed to join us for burgers and dogs and maybe a little swimming. Low and behold, Princess Abigail decided to enter the world. Thus, the gathering was delayed for nearly a year. Here she is taking some of her first steps in our living room!
And getting some cowboy love from Brooks :)
Beckham and Brooks even took it upon themselves to teach her how to climb the stairs!
And of course we had to have some "family" shots ;)
Thanks for joining us for dinner, Bogozans! We had a great time and can't wait to do it again. . .

Muffins for Moms

Beckham's school put on a concert this morning just for the mommies. The theme was "Down by the Sea. . . my Mommy and Me". They started off singing 'My Bonnie' then 'This Little Light of Mine' (which was apparently too long for blogger's taste).
Then they sang 'Baby Fish',
'Zoophonics',
'You Are My Sunshine',

'A Sailor Went to Sea' (a must see),

and 'Skinnamarink' (another must see).

Then the munchkins joined their mommies for some muffins and o.j. They got to show off the artwork they had prepared for the concert, like the 'octopus hands' below, the seashell cross, and the placemat that were both on the tables.
And I owe a huge "THANK YOU" to Scottie for working from home so I didn't have to bring the monster with me :)

Spring Fling 2012

And we're off! Brooks and I spent the entire day Thursday cheering on Beckham as he played his way through all the stations at the Spring Fling. It was the perfect morning with an overcast sky.
They started out on the bounce houses. (I got this pic right before Makalee gave him bunny ears)
I think he got a little talking-to for not sliding down on his bottom. A few tears were shed :(
Brooks, thank the good heavens, was an angel all morning. He entertained himself with his goldfish and raisins.

This 'Cars 2' bounce house was his favorite because it had "punching bags".
Brooks was pretty ticked he didn't get to ride the train, but his time came after lunch thank goodness!

What a good little sport!
Beckham showed his mad soccer skills to all his lady friends.

And they had a lot of fun with the parachute, though none of them were thrilled when the teachers tried to get a pic of them laying in a circle.

They ended the day with a couple more bounce houses. (I'm pretty sure he wasn't supposed to go down on his belly- again)

And the "award ceremony". All the kids got their #1 medals for doing such a great job :)
Before heading home, we chowed down on burgers, danced to music, let the boys play on the bounce houses and train some more, and ended with a blue snow cone. What a day! Time for a nap :)
