Pumpkin Carving 2011

The time has come to begin the Halloween festivities!
Scott gave up his hopes of carving an intricate design to compete with Amanda's pumpkin this year and gave in to Beckham's request for a "happy mad face".
As always, removing the guts was fun!
And Daddy took charge of the carving with two little helpers by his side.

Beckham was so excited that the pumpkin had turned into a Jack-o-lantern :)
Happy Halloween!!

Updated Beckhamisms

Beckham is Mr. Inquisitive these days. Everything is How? and Why? His little mind is continuously at work trying to figure everything out. He's been asking questions about his own anatomy as well as others'. That being said, he was playing with a Cabbage Patch Kid one day and stripped it down naked. He came running to Scott with the doll and said, "Daddy, my doll has a STRANGE penis!" Of course, he was referring to the doll's gigantic belly button :)

If you didn't know already, POOP is absolutely hilarious! Everything is about poop these days, and it couldn't be funnier. No matter what it is, it looks like, smells like, has a name containing, or is POOP. Scott has a habit of incorporating inappropriate words into perfectly nice songs. Apparently Becks has noticed because he has followed suit and does it with the words poop, fart, and butt (or bungas as he likes to refer to it). What a proud Mama I am!

Scott and Pap-pap went hunting last week. They spotted some loose pigs on the property and Tim was able to shoot one. I was telling Beckham about it by prompting him, "Beckham, guess what Grandpap shot?" He responded in the most southern, drawn out words, "A day-eeerr?" It took me a few seconds to stop laughing before I could tell him about the pig.

A Day in the Life of Brooks

Our funny little man just keeps getting sillier and sillier. He is picking up words left and right, sings along with songs (tune and all), LOVES to dance, and will do anything for a laugh.
But he still sleeps like a baby at naptime.
Not to mention bedtime. That's a whole nother story!!

Pumpkins!!!

We made our annual trip to Berry Patch Farms today for some pumpkin-pickin' festivities (and lots of pics).
excuse the gaping mouth! i think i was trying to make beckham stay in my lap
there were wee little pumpkins,
squeezable munchkin-sized pumpkins,
and some giant pumpkins (this particular one came home with us).
Rumbles didn't want to smile, he just wanted to rumble on.

And only Beckham's super hero strength coerced a smile out of him!
And then of course, we had to visit the "petting zoo". A day's worth of fun squeezed into an hour! (Then we went to Zaxby's where Beckham promptly dropped and spilled his entire drink and Brooks had a meltdown- but let's focus on the positive!)

Smile for the Camera!

Beckham needed a family pic for a school project, so we set up the camera, I pressed the button, and I ran to join the fam. Let me tell you how NOT easy it is to get a 1 year old to look at a camera when there's no one behind it to appeal to him. Argh! At least Beckham looks cute!!

Mother/Daughter Weekend

the above video is in honor of the talents of Dahlonega
Mom and I had a garage sale last Saturday. (Remind me never to do another one. . . ever!) Since I took off the whole weekend from work, she and I and Shanna headed to Dahlonega all day Sunday for the Gold Rush Festival. Being kid free for the day put me in such a great mood! We rode in Mom's car with the top down, blasted The Judds, took in some fall leaves, browsed the shops and tents, ran into my girlfriend Allison and her family, visited with my old friend Tyler, and ate some yummy treats. It was an absolutely wonderful day (and Scott was pleased that I got home in time for his hockey game). Can't wait to do it again next year! I love spending time with my family :)

Practicing for Halloween

Scott took the boys to some costume stores last weekend. They were on a hunt for a costume for Beckham. Apparently, the specialty stores carry infant, kids, and adults, but barely any toddler stuff. They went with super heroes in mind and came home with an awesome Army Guy costume, gun and all. Beckham was so excited to put it on and ended up wearing it all day :)
While in the spirit, I thought I'd try the Hairy Dawg costume on Brooks to make sure it fit. (You can see he was oh so pleased to have the hood up over his head.) Surprisingly it did, which is great since the only other small costume we have is Superman. Scott says that's just not right since Brooks has blonde hair ;)

Windows Away

The weather has been absolutely perfect for opening the windows lately. The boys have made it their responsibility to keep the window sills warm :)
They didn't have a hard time enjoying the favors from Katie's shower, either!

Showering Katie and Her Baby Boy

Look at that cute belly!
The girls and I threw a baby shower for Katie on Sunday. Katie is usually the one to organize such events, so it was so fun to plan for her!
We had a great turn out, too. Some pics of the girls. . .

The Kosmetatos Ladies
Me and the Mommy-to-be

We had a great time with delicious food, some fun games, and of course good company :)

(There were other people at the shower, too. I just decided to include only pics of my girlfriends in my post.)

Home-made Popsicles

I got these cute popsicle molds from Lakeside Collection. (The rocket-shaped molds were featured in a previous post.) The boys have had so much fun making their own popsicles and eating them :)
sidenote: orange pop doesn't work that well.
