Drought vs. Flood

For the past several years, Georgia has been suffering a severe drought. But, for the month of September, we have had almost nothing but rain. It finally took it's toll on North Georgia over the weekend. We were fortunate enough to escape any flood damage, while others around us had sunken cars, yard damage, flooded homes, etc. Schools in our area have been closed downs, buses have been damaged, and roads have been flooded. Ironically enough, the sun is making a debut today, a day which was predicted to be filled with yet more thunderstorms. . .
This is the worst our yard got, which is nothing. My sister and her family have part of the Yellow River running through their backyard. With the drought, it had become nothing but a small stream. Since the rain started, though, the river took over their yard. It put their trampoline up a tree, carried away their playhouse, bikes, and Barbie Jeep, and washed away their firepit and furniture. Thank goodness for flood insurance!
